I am a researcher and educator with more than a decade of experience in higher education. My work focuses on neurodiversity, applied linguistics, and educational equity, and I have designed and taught undergraduate and graduate courses across multiple institutions, preparing students for careers in communication, public relations, and education.
I began my career teaching English as an additional language and working with educators internationally. During this period, I completed my Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages at Portland State University.
From 2015 to 2017, I served as an English Language Fellow through the U.S. Department of State’s English Language Programs, working with universities and teacher education programs in Mexico.
I later held full-time faculty positions in Colombia, first at Universidad del Norte and then at Universidad de La Sabana, where I taught in English language teaching and teacher education programs.
In 2020, I began my doctoral studies in Language and Literacy Education at the University of British Columbia, where my research focuses on neurodiversity, applied linguistics, and educational equity.
Alongside my doctoral work, I have held several research and teaching roles at UBC. I worked as a Senior Research Analyst in the Planning and Institutional Research Office and later as a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Specialist supporting faculty research on teaching and learning.
I currently teach as a sessional instructor at both the University of British Columbia and University Canada West.
Throughout my career, I have continued to collaborate internationally through the U.S. Department of State’s English Language Programs as an English Language Specialist.
My research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes, and I regularly present my work at international conferences in applied linguistics, language education, and disability studies.
